I'm thinking of stepping up from my pull start 7500w generator to the Duromax XP1200EH Dual Fuel generator aka The Beast.

Anyone here have any experience with the Duromax?

I'd like to run it exclusively on propane. Safer than keeping 5 gal cans of gas in the garage.

Thanks in advance.

You'll get less run time on propane. And if you use the little bottles, you can run into the tanks freezing from using so much gas at a fast rate out of the tank. So while you may be able to store the propane easier, make sure it's a large tank!

None of my business, but why to use it every two or 5 years for a couple days or maybe a month at the longest? You wont hurt my fellings to tell me to mind my own business. Just a suggestion.

My wife has some medical equipment that absolutely must be powered up.

We lost power for 36 hours after Irma. I have a smaller pull-start generator that powered up our fridge, a big ass fan and a microwave until the power came back on.

I use the twin honda 2000's on my camper (usually only once a year at Talladega) then when I do work around the house and need a power source. They have been excellent generators and now that we bought another larger camper with twin ACs I thought I may need to sell them and buy a bigger one like you are wanting. After doing that research the dual fuel look purty nice but it just boils down to needs. I think you missed a 0 on your initial instead of 1200 I think you meant 12000 and that beast would power your whole house as long as you get an electrician to wire up your power box...

Which ever you decide just make sure you use ethanol free gas (fer liquid burners) and run it at least once a month unless you have a fuel shut off that would drain the carb completely so you won't have any gumming up. I know I neglected turning on my Hondas this past year but I used them until I ran them outta gas last year. Fresh gas in em and fired up on the 2nd pull.

The Honda 2000 are inverter generators.
They have a much smoother sine wave on the ac current.
Not sure if the Duromax is an inverter or not. If not I would not run my camper or my whole house on it. Home electronics and air conditioners do not like a jagged ac current.
