I just got this Ocean Kayak a few days ago and noticed four round holes. 2 near the seat and 2 more one each side near where my feet go. Do these need to be plugged?!?!

I am using it for the first time this weekend and would like to know before I go. Any help would be appreciated.

Scupper holes need to be there. Don't plug them. It will be apparent to you when some water gets inside. Read up about kayaks. There are several websites if you google.

I leave mine open but if you're inshore you can probably get away with pugging em but be sure that whatever you use has a lanyard on each plug so you can pop em out quick if you get waked!

Scupper holes should go all the way through the bottom of the yak. From the location you said sounds like the are scupper holes, but it was hard to tell in pic if they do. If for some reason they don't go all the way through it could be where someone had something mounted that they took out of the yak. Just make sure water isn't filling the inside of your boat.
