Got to Henderson beach a little late (0930). Water was clear with small surf but windy ESE. Sand fleas were plentiful and big. Got rods in the water and less than 10 minutes later I get a strike. First whiting in the bag. Not having caught whiting in many many years, and never bigger than 12 inches I had to look at my phone to make sure I identified it properly as it kind of looked like a white washed spotless redfish. Second one came two hours later. No pompano. Only trash fish I caught was a remora. Grass was somewhat of a problem. The tape measure slid an inch to the right so they appear an inch bigger but are the biggest whiting I have caught. Cheers!
