Friend hit me up about smoking some deer jerky. He got one of those jerky stick guns and I have a master built smoker.

Any of y'all ever done jerky on the smoker? Just wanting general info on smoke times, favorite marinades, and wood of choice.

A few years ago I smoked a deer roast on the smoker and it turned out looking good but was tough, so I sliced it thin and marinated it in a bourbon recipe my dad uses for jerky and dehydrated it in the oven. It was the best jerky I ever had.

Oh, that sounds good!

Gonna try smoking it at 165 for 6 hours or so. Will post pics and marinade if it's worthy.
