Not a long story to read on this one...We got to our stands Saturday morn before daylight and the skidders were already cranked up across the creek. We thought they might take the day off but oh well. Dad decided to go sit another spot down the road over looking a clear cut and it paid off. About 7:30 he saw horns step out about 250yds away. He dropped him in his tracks. He was just cruising through. We had to drag him about 375 yds to the truck...thank goodness for those deer carts. Made a hour long drag into a 20minjob. I don't think I could have got a monster truck to him. There were some deep skidder holes out there and it was MUUUUDDDYYYY!

8pt, 15" inside, 175lbs. Tines were short but he had really good mass all the way out to the tips.

Yea...my dad thinks camo is overated. JK he had a coverall suit on.

You think my 2 year old is pumped up about his granddaddy's deer? He was fired up.

Check out the holes he had in both sides of his horns. We've killed a bunch of deer with these holes in them. Not sure what causes it but it's pretty neat. I think it has to do something with their diet from what I've read. Missing or to much of something. Someone with a Vet degree may be able to explain.

Pigsdaddy (1/24/2010)Congrats to your pop. Tell him that David Hardy said that he was "stupid scum trash." Both my wife and I had many classes with him and he was both of our favorite teacher. Where was yall hunting?
I'll let him know David. Yea I was in several of the stupid scum trash classes also!...Along with digging holes with paper clips and forks, putting my nose in a circle on the chaulk board, holding a stick stuck in the ground while bent over at the waiste, hugged a tree, got errasers thrown at me...etc etc... Bring back anymore memories! LOL... You kin to Rod and Robby? I went to school with both of them.

We hunt just North of Evergreen, AL.

Same stand...consecutive sits...he knocks down another. Guess he has the golden horse shoe in his butt or something. 7pt 160lbs. Someone had shot him in the but with a .22 or something in the last day or so.He had a hole in his hind quarter. Probably one of our fine night hunters we have up here.

You can have it Friday....I've already put dibs on tomorrow.

I know the feeling man. If you saw some of the sign I'm hunting you would think I had one tied up near by. I don't know. Guess it's gonna be one of those you just have to sit on and sit on until he screws up.
