Are you using calls? If so electronic or mouth. I shot a couple this year while deer hunting. I bought a cheap electronic and a primos mouth call to hunt coyotes with but have only tried them after I got bored on the deer stand. One of the ones I shot was just walking by and the other one I was able to call back to me after he passed by in the woods. I hunt mostly in GA and hope to get back up there now that deer season is over and try my luck. This is my first year trying so I'm trying to learn as much as possible. Good luck.

Becareful you may get addicted, calling in a predator is quite a rush. I have a friend that takes50-80 a year. He has a booyah call of some sort, but we always try and locate some by howling late the night before (around midnight), If you are lucky you will get some located, then get 100 yds or so away (terrain determining) and they should come in running after a few calls shortly after first light (I do not know what calls he uses in the morning, sometimes he uses yote calls and sometimes he uses animal in distress calls, depending on if he thinks a dominate male was howling the night before). If you shoot one play a coyote in distress call and sometimes others will rush in. If you have no luck with the yotes in the first few hours of light, move into thicker cover and try some animal distress calls like a woodpecker or mouse and you can call in some cats.

I would love to do a skull mount of a coyotee.

I rarely see them where I hunt. Actually have only seen them on

deer cameras.

I would gladly do a euro skull head for you for free,

it you would also provide me with one.

pm if interested

My nephew shot one the last day of deer season in AL. He shot a doe early that morning and about 45 min. later he saw the coyote but didn't get a shot, within a few min. the coyote got wind of the gut shot doe and he practically shot the coyote off the top of the doe. So I guess we're gonna try coyote hunting in the off season so I'm open to any info out there. Ken

well my yote hunting did'nt go so well. I know have a deer neck out with the deer cam wich i guess i can now call my yote cam, set up about 30 feet away and on the side of a big deer trail.that way i can see from which direction they are coming from and how many, then i will start to feed them regularly to get them on a schedule and pattern them. From what i hear they have a good memory. will post the results should be awesome.
