I've yet to draw my bow string back ever while hunting. I had an opportunity last year and my stupid legs started shaking and totally locked up on me...I'll be on private property.I hope I get something to post. The owner has food plots and I should get a few opportunities..I sure hope I don't miss. This county is an eight hour drive. I've got an older Darton bow but my groups are decent.I shoot carbon terminators with 100 grain Steel Force Sabertooths.I'll be the only one on the property.
Remember 2 things 1 )If hunting from a tree stand keep bow arm at perfect form and bend at the waist. ( 2 ) Pick a spot behind the shoulder of the deer and focus on the spot and not the deer. Aim small miss small. Good luck, George

<SPAN id=_ctl1_ctlTopic_ctlPanelBar_ctlTopicsRepeater__ctl9_lblFullMessage>Where in florida are you hunting. and where in alabama are you staying. Trigger,
I hope this does not offend you but I honestly don't feel comfortable giving that info out. I'm kind of new here. I do appreciate your concern though.
Pros..The area is much nicer than I expected. I plan ot make a trip to Blackwater annually ..probably around Christmas vacation. I stayed at Sarah's in Florala, Alamaba. A restaraunt across the road has an awesome Seafood buffet on Fridays' and Sat. I snuck the waitdressa 5 dollar bill to keep the shrimp , oysters and crablegs piled high.
the owner of the property was nice but ...
Cons..by week 3 the deer seemed a little shy. Although it is only archery ..I heard gunshots and dogs all the time. I ended up seeing 5 does but way out of range...I struck out.It was a learning experience. The country is so beautiful it was worth the money just to see hills and sit in a stand without mosquitoes. Everyone I ran in to was very nice. My favorite area was Larurel Hills. It's only 20 miles from Crestview which has everything.
It is a purty area Chuck, and when in Florida hunting during the Oct-Nov area....invest in a good bug suit which is $$$ or a 20.00 thermacel from Wally World. They work great, never have to worry bout them biting, flying pests!!! PM sent also brother.
Thanks man..PM answered. Actually Okaloosa pays teachers more than the present county I live in..We are very tempted in moving up there. it's just really difficult leaving family. My wife and I were both raised in the country..I really love that area. Laurel Hills is just a jump down highway 2 ..Maybe 30 minutesto Blackwater ..
Crestview is down 85 about 20 miles..and some really good seafood asbout 5 miles north through Bama. {-:
And I wouldn't mind giving ole Lake Jackson a try fishing as well. That lake looked pretty nice. I also saw a stick marsh like lake while driving toward Du Funiak
Chuck, this is a great area...my wife is a teacher w/ Okaloosa county and we live in North Baker (Escambia Farms) which if you take Hwy 2 from off 85 by where you were hunting its about a 15 min. trip. PM sent again brother...
I'll be sending alot of resumes up this summer to the 25 elememtary schools in Okaloosa County. My son wants to buy our present home ..we are ready to move.I'm currently teaching in an elementary school. Teachers are graded yearly in Florida by their principals. So far I've scored outstanding each year..I'm hopingI can get a job up there.I'm certified in ESE K-12 and Regular elementary K-6 ...and I'm ESOL certified.Let me know if ya hear anything. {-:
