I'm re-carpeting underneath my gunnels where my rod holders are and I need some advice on what kind of glue to use. I've looked at the 3M upholstry glue but not sure it will do the trick or not. I've used nails glue on stuff in the past but it seems to eventually let go after a while.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I used some 3m carpet adhesive that I trowelled on to put carpet in a bass tracker back in 1993. It was the marine, rubber backed carpet. The same carpet it still in place today.

If there are any loose edges of carpet, I would get some aluminum carpet-joining strips to overlay the edge, and install it with some stainless screws onto the decking.

I am re-doing the carpet on my 16 foot aluminum boat right now. Just tore off all the old stuff.:letsdrink
