We are looking to do some camping this year and looking for good places within a couple hour drive of the Navarre area here in Florida. What we require are clean tent camping sites ( an example of clean we consider pickens to be NASTY), wanting the tent site to be close to a boat launch for inshore fishing. Would like it to have showers. Any ideas ?

Rocky bayou inNiceville(right out side of destin)has a very nice camp ground and VERY clean showeres with a boat ramp. Henderson Beach state park also has a very nice camp ground with showers, this is right on the beach, and the boat ramp is about 10 minutes away. Cape Sand Blast (Port St Joe) Has a very nice camp ground with showers and a boat ramp in camp.

If you are looking for something away from the coast, Florala State Park is a nice. It's located on Lake Jackson which is a fairlyclean and clear 500 acre lake with decent fishing. The boat ramp is located within the campground property and right next to the primitive (tent) camping area. The park is less than an hour north of Crestview. Fishing is best during the week, because on the weekends there are lots of jet skis and water skiers running around.

<span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">Hurricane and Bear Lakes have campgrounds, but electric motors only. The little known Grassy Point area on Blackwater Bay has primitive tent camping for free, but they only have pit toilets, you have bring your own shower and you can only launch small boats into Bayou Fundy. Also, the No-see-ums can be bad.

Are you requiring a camp ground or do you just want to camp via boat somewhere? We camp on the Islands in the Sound near Hurlburt Field and it's free. No worries about building a big fire either! On Spectre Island which is the big one closest to Hurlburt Field the East end of the Island is great for camping on, you have shallow water on one side and deep water on the other. There is also aHurlburt Camping area on the mainland parallel with the Spectre Island that would have facilities such as bathrooms and showers. Fishing in the area is pretty good, that is where Anthony caught his first Redfish this year. Let me know where and when you decide to camp and maybe we'll join you if you don't mind company?
