what do you guys use? I use a combo of the two but wanted to hear what yall use.
i have penn reels with 40lb braid to 50lb fluorocarbon. I like the braid much better then mono right since it doesn't knot up as much after it gets stretched out.

I like mono for kings but prefer braid for other offshore duties. I always use braid for tarpon.

I use braid on all my rigs. 15 to 65lb depending on setup. I love braid, except when a fish wraps around my mirage fins and cuts them.

i also only use braid, love the way if feels and it also allows you to hold more line on ur reel

I prefer mono, especially for trolling. The stretch of mono and light drag keeps hooks from pulling when a fast moving fish like a king or mahi nails it and hauls ass.

Bottom fishing, braid works better then mono due to the lack of stretch. Mono isnt terrible though.

The biggest negative with mono is that after several fish it starts to twist. I replace the line on my spools every couple months or so.

I'm kinda in the middle right now on both I used braid on both my rods today and I like well they did( in the gulf). I'm just not sure wich I like better now. But been mono fan for years but now I like braid since I can hold more line and just let the drag lose and twisting of my line doesn't happen after a few fish.
