Went out this evening for an hour in blackwater bay and caught 8 small bass, 1 undersized striper, and what looked to be about a 20" northern pike. We didnt keep it or take pictures but having been to Wisconsin and Canada and catching them before I am pretty sure this was a Northern. Question is, are there northern pike down here or is there another species of fish that looks really similar that I dont know about?

That would have been a chain pickerel. Very closely related to the northern pike, but its southern cousin. Good to eat but beware of the y bones on the rib cage. My largest was from Frank Jackson resevoir in SE Alabama. A little over 6lbs.
