I went got up to blackwater this morning around 540 or so. Caught 2 trout on a Zara Puppy. Lost 3-4 others that I'm sure were trout...most lost close to the boat while I was reaching for the net...had a lot of missed strikes as well. Caught a few ladyfish around 7. The bite slowed down a lot around 730 or so. Caught one redfish on a gulp rigged with a popping cork. Measured 17 7/8" (boo) so he went back to catch another day.

Think I might not be fishing the right areas after the sun is well risen because I'm catching all my fish right at sunrise and then not much after, but I'm happy I finally caught something to bring home to filet! haha.

Question: do you guys rig spooks with loop knots or normal type knots?

Try moving off those flats when the sun gets up...nothing wrong w/ that location.

I haven't been it about 3 mo because of surgery,but on the full moon I have done my best right at first light and then later in the am around 11-2. A buddy lives on blackwater bay and said the fishing has been great this week !!! Around the interstate bridge, specks reds and flounder. Good Luck!!!!!
