Launched from Brown's Fish Camp and got to my spot about 7am. Caught several small trout and redfish, but did manage to get a 20" trout and a 21" red. Used a chartreuse soft plastic with a real slow retrieval. The bite was over by 9:30.

Took my son out around that area on 3/22 hoping to put him on a red or trout, but we never found them. Ended up finding one bass on a chatterbait just upriver from the fish camp but never got the target fish. What kind of water were you in? Downstream, upstream? Channel bends? Just trying to learn something so I can get the kid on a red to keep him interested!

Pretty fish, glad you guys got on a bite!

I headed down river to the bay and fish in the shallow coves. I usually fish in 3-4 feet of water, but have found reds in shallower water. I went out the past 2 days and picked up a slot red each day. The wind was blowing pretty bad, so I didn't stay out long.
