On day two - Billarrived at GLYC with his fosterkids Cody (17) and Sean (17).

Saturday we had some incoming tide in the pass so we tried trollingfor spanish - and it worked !

Sean got a nice fat speckled mack!

We worked back to fishing lookingbottom in the pass and bombed them with finger mullet -

The grouper responded and Sean got a 22.5 inch fish - finally a keeper!

We scored a few flounder in the pass on the smaller finger mullet

One mullet got hammer and long run meant we tied into something other than grouper -

at 34 inch red finally surfaced - good fight! but too big so back it went

We moved up into the bay - had lunch at Oar house again and escaped the midday heat -

The crew - Cody - Sean - and Bill

We moved out and tried our snapper hole - no joy - only runts - a few sharks - and tried three mile - little tide and no fish -

We tried fishing near NAS - no more flounder but something big nailed a finger mullet again - Bill was up to the challenage - on 12 lb test spinnng gear hada big black drum boat side. Not on the prize list - we turned this fish loose

Another fun day on the water with some great folks - and we even beat the storms home !

Hats off to Tom, Bill, and Noah for getting this guys out there!

Keith, we really had an awesome time fishing with you yesterday. Your knowledge of the bay, your solicituous treatement of the boys and your boundless energy all contributed to make this the best fishing tripthe boys (and I)have ever been on. You, the Grand Lagoon Yacht Cluband your fellow club members are to be commended for putting on an awesome tournament in the face of the disaster unfolding in the Gulf, and forcreating a truly memorable dayfor my foster kids.

Kieth,

I knew you had a heart somewhere, I just haven't seen it much. I'm glad these boys did not see Capt.Bligh out of you!!!. If they only knew how close they were to getting chewed up by a land shark.

Nice job getting those kids on some good quality fish and ringing the winning bell. Those young men will remember that day for a long time to come. It was definitely a scorcher out there.

Thanks for the post!
