Definitely a big ole bob cat. My cousin shot one up near opelika several years ago. It was in the 40lb range. It was scary big. Filled up his cargo rack on his cherokee.

I'm not sure the tail's not there.

What's that curl at the bottom of the leg? Is the tail tucked in and curling out the bottom?

Oddly enough, here's another FWC picture titled Bobcat-not-panther and it looks to have a bit of a tail behind it.

I have seen bobcats with tails almost a foot long.

Reckon it would make them a pony cat or something.

I say it is a panther because the bone on the legs looks too heavy for a bobcat. I have seen two different panthers while hunting in Tuscaloosa. If they are that far north surely they are around ya'lls area.

They will scare the crap out of you when all you have is your bow that you can't hit the broad side of a barn with and he is walking straight to your tree looking at you.

FISHBOXFULL (10/5/2009)hard to tell but look at the depth of muscle on that front shoulder. that would be a bobcat on steroids. i think panther.

that's what I noticed also . if that is a wildcat he's been working out !
