big blackwater red 10/4/07

After having such a good day on monday i was ready to get out again ,so i headed to the same area on blackwater bay . the skys were nice and overcast with wind out of the east. I started at my usual spot and was having no luck the first 30 minutes . Move to another area and it didn't take long before i was hooked up weth a big red. It was quite obvious that this was a nice fish. He takes me about three times around the boat steadily pulling dragbefore i get him in the net. At first i thought he was too big to keep but after measuring him a few times he was just over 26-1/2" and 7# 4 oz. Thus is by far the biggest red i've ever caught. I got a few other short reds and another 15" flounder. I was ready to work on another slam when i was playing with my cast net and lost my cell phone when it got caught on the net and pulled out of my pocket :doh. After that i was ready to take it to the house.
