Just bought an Ocean prowler 13 (my first yak) and now I need a paddle...I have done some research and it appears that its somewhat a case of personal preference. But in this case my question is whats the best value in a paddle for a beginner with a moderate budget??..

I would like to stay under a $100.00 for it...Any really good used ones out there??........thanks for any input........Wahoo 2

Look at Aquabound or Carlisle - they make excellent paddles that are light and durable. Look for aluminum or fiberglass shafts and nylon / plastic blades. You are going to push off pilings, oysters, and other stuff so the durables blades are a plus. You can look at Academy and maybe get lucky - their inventory is uncertain. Or go to Pensacola Kayak and Sail - they have a lot of inventory and choice and someone that knows what they are talking about... They can hook you up for $100 or less.
