Put 3 youngsters out today, then headed to the most comfy stand. Sat for a bit, it was cold. Saw a button, and a small doe. Then a big doe stepped out with a yearling. I was prepping to take her to the train station when a big boy came out and chased her off. Well I took HIM to the train station. My best buck in over 20 years. I ususally let the bucks walk but this one had to go home with me.

Nice buck! The best buck I've killed was just east of Sardis. Big bucks still roamin' those woods!

Biggest buck I have ever seen in Bama was standing on the edge of the pavement on Hwy 41 at Sardis in a frog strangler of a rain storm. He was watching a doe on the other side of the hwy standing on the edge and I was on top of them both before I saw them. Luckily they both ran away from the road as I passed. That stretch from Elm Bluff to Sardis can produce some good ones if they get some age on them. Congrats on a fine deer.
