I have been out to the edge a couple of times bottom fishing with not so good results, I have been using cigar minows and squid and was wondering what everyone else uses bottom fishing at the edge. I am mainly fishing for snapper and grouper.

Live baits are the best, pin fish, pig fish, hard tails etc.

Take a cigar minow and ram it up the back side of the squid. Then put the hook through the squid and eyes of the inside cig. Butterflyed large menhaden are good too. Anyting live will always be better though. Try a large definned vermillion snapper.

He won't be for quite some time now. The red tide is in. Try catching bait on the spot and drop back down live or butterflied.
