this summer I fished about 18 miles offshore in a spot and caught a lot of quality beeliners. A few weeks ago on a nice day I tried the same spot but only caught one. Fished a large part of the day and could not find them. Do they move deeper in the winter months? Or was it just a bad day for fishing? We did catch a lot of triggers and undersize AJ's.
thanks

Beeliners move around quite a bit. During cooler periods I focus on depths of 120-200ft and stay 180+ in the hotter months. During full moon periods they can get lockjaw like nothing else. Small live baits will produce best when this happens. Use small finger mullet (2-4inch) or small pinfish and croakers.
