What kind of battery does everyone use for the fish finder in a kayak? I was thinking of just buying a motorcycle or lawn mower battery, but thought I'd ask first. Also, do you put it in a waterproof case of some sort? Thanks.

Look for the power sonic brand. I've had awesome luck with them

Don't use a mower or motorcycle they can spill and cause problems . As suggested use a sealed gel cell battery. Make sure you get the correct charger a regular charger will work but could charge too fast and ruin the battery or cause an explosion if a gel cell is charged too fast...

If you got a cordless drill you can use that battery and charger.

Those of you that use a gel sealed battery, what type of charger do you use? Halls was very helpful on the battery, but didn't seem to know so much about the charger needed.

Just put gell cell charger in e-bay, They are a cheaper slower chargeing than car batteries chargers.
