Cars jacked up always scared me. Once myself and several others had to lift a car off a guy that was doing a brake job on his vehicle. It was totally his fault. No stands and used a bumper jack.
Whenever I went under my vehicle I always used 6x6 scraps of wood laid horizontal stacked on each other. Plus I would leave the hydraulic jack in place and after I got it jacked up and stabilized I would shake the hell out of it.

Drive on Ramps with a security 4 X4 block behind rear wheel. Thats for changing oil when I use a creeper to get under front end. And emergency break on.

Never have trusted stands of any kind. I have a wide selection of wooden timber blocks just for that purpose and if the wheel(s) is/are off, then it/they will be slid under the vehicle just for good measure.
