I just got a Davis system I plan to mount on my dock. I hope to be able to uplink to weather underground so I can make it public.

Duly noted. Good advice. By the time it's said and done, the anemometer will be over 30 feet from the surface of the water.

I have been running a Davis for about 10 yrs, great station.
I'm really excited. Do you have yours online? I'm about 1700 yards from the dock. We are setting the station over the water. It will bounce the signal to a solar powered repeater, and up to my house where it will upload. I am in the Mackey Cove area, so that station should provide real time data to that end of the bay, which is right at the mouth of the Escambia. Vantage Pro2 | Davis Instruments

No I don't have mine online. I live in Walnut Hill. Have been thinking about linking it up online. Just haven't done it yet. One thing you will have to watch for is birds crapping in rain collector. Bluebirds like to sit on mine. I have to take it down and clean the collector every few months. Only takes a couple minutes. You will like the Davis!
