I just saw this today... it's pretty cool!
It is based on a reputable forecasting computer model called the GFS (Global Forecast System). One of many models that meteorologists use in forecasting weather.

You can change altitudes, etc...
Notice how the wind shifts on Monday bringing moisture up from the gulf. Rain is predicted for Tuesday...
