Have an opportunity to rent a home on alligator point during first full week of October. Does anyone know anything about the fishing there? Looks like point is pretty detached from lots of bait/tackle shops. Any recommendations on what I would want to bring down with us for bait?

Alligator Point is close to Turkey Point and the FSU marine lab. When I was there, we had some great cookouts using locally caught fish and scallops. There is abundant life in that area. I would bring some artificial lures, spoons, Gotcha lures, soft lures like DOA or Matrix. If you can keep shrimp frozen, you might take some.

Take Aqua Dream Living 1/4 oz. gold spoon, bone colored One Knocker and/or Spook Jr. There are plenty of oyster bars to work in Alligator Harbor and grassy edges are plentiful. The closest bait and tackle shop is Crum's across the bridge towards Panacea.

There's a boat launch at the end of Sun and Sand Blvd. off of Alligator Point Rd.

It's very muddy in spots so wading can be a bad idea.
