So I googled a certain outdoor product and wouldn't you know that one of the top 5 advertisements that we have to scroll past was the same product I googled. Tin hat wearers beware, PFF is tracking you. May be making my exit soon. Carry on. BTW: wtf fishes out of a mazda 5?

your internet service provider is tracking you too. your cell phone is tracking you. face it, were all being tracked....
When I joined this forum after the fishthebridge takeover I'm pretty sure it was run on dial up from a netgear router covered in spilled beer and popcorn kernals. Looking too much like the facebook for my likings.

I don’t have any advertisements at all. I access the forum with an iPhone through Tapatalk, however.

On a side note- I am 100% convinced that our phones listen to our conversations. This has happened many times with both me and my coworkers. We’ll all be talking about something, not googling, and later that day or the next day we will all see ads on various platforms for what we were talking about. Has been tested a few times.

Whatever. I’ve got nothing to hide. I read 1984 in high school.

i hear ya, but the internet has come a long way since the early days. I started here in 2004 i think, heck, one thing for sure, there will never be an alexa or any similar device in our home. but I assume our phones, computers and tv's listen to us.... creepy but it allstarted years ago....

PFF might be, but my ISP isn't. I use a vpn to stop them from nosing into my business. As far as my phone, it has a vpn on it too, I also keep the data connection turned off as well as the bt and wf until I need it. I'll probably load the tor browser before long tho. Supposed to be the chit.

It's your browser. Yes, smart phones listen all the time as do your smart TVs. And your smart robot vacuum cleaners uploaded your floorplan. Welcome to the internet of things. If all of this corporate surveillance bothers you support candidates that push for privacy and a digital bill of rights. There are candidates on both sides of the isle who care about this. Or you can blame PFF...

There's built in tracking systems everywhere now. My 2008 Chevy truck can be tracked, they can shut it down if they want to. You are being tracked on your smart phone. Some tv sets can spy on you. Cameras are around with facial recognition. It's a brave new world.

Yep,

If you only knew how much your personal life is invaded by any technology you use, I pretty sure you'd freak out!

If you are a part of marketing or have anything to do with online advertising, you know how you can geo fence for ads and all kinds of things! People can pay to target you in all kinds of ways! You are constantly being tracked and marketed too!!!!!!!

And you agree to it all in the use agreements for enerything you do basically.

Google, Apple, Yahoo, Android, Amazon, Cloud, ISP's you have NO privacy. Free WIFI, you might as well broadcast your personal info. Doing online banking/transactions over your phone is pure crazy. I use no WIFI what so ever. Social media is the very worst you can do.

I'll bet the NSA has created a time machine, they collect data on every single person in the USA, phone, text, email, photos, all social media, video and create a file on you that will go back over a decade. Then if something were to happen or you did something bad or whatever, they can look over a decade worth of data to see what happened or where it went wrong. After they have done this hundreds maybe thousands of times they can then build an algorithm that looks for certain triggers. Minority report anyone?

Not necessarily! My new GMC truck has "Back seat reminder" "safety" feature! I can turn it off. But with my carseats on the back or any weight at all in the back seats, it flashes, "check back seat" on the screen!!!

I am sure if this sensor senses movement/weight change while the vehicle is off, onstar can get notifed etc... My truck is a work truck package and has onstar "delete" option! Glad it has that option!

Yep, if you operate only on cash only, have no cell phone, and still don't have internet, then maybe! But I know a guy that doesn't have a CC, bank account, cell phone, or anything! They still exist. But very rare! Takes a lot to go off of every radar!!!!
