I would like to introduce myself. My name is Craig Fox I am a Louisiana resident and a member of the Shamrock boat owners network. Are there any Shamrock owners in the west Florida region? We are having our group meeting in Destin June 12th. Time and place TBA. We'll have several member boats on hand for show and tell and are looking for some local fishing information. Any tournaments going on that weekend? Does anyone have a suggestion forhousing rental, marina or meeting locations. Was there ever a shamrock dealer in the Destin area? http://www.fishtheclassic.net/forums/showthread.php?t=24570

Thanks

Welcome Aboard!!

Not sure what you are looking for exactly, but you may want to look at Bay Towne Warf as found on this link. It is a resort type setting with a marina.

http://www.baytownewharf.com/

Or if you want a hotel type place on Destin Harbor try this one:

Or you can search on this link, there are some houses there will private docks.

As far as a meeting place, you may want to try the hotels, like

or

For marinas also check these links

I was not aware of the Shamrocks, I am thinking a pilot house is my next and have been eyeing the Parkers extended cabin. I love to boat dry, and I would love to do it in Air conditioning with a generator, or heat in the winter.

I do not know of any dealers here in the Panhandle, as this boat would have caught my eye.

I dunno if there was or is a dealer in Destin. I bought mine from Emerald Coast Marine in 2001. But I believe they had stopped there Shamrock dealership. I think I got their last 260.

Unfortunately I don't know much about Destin. I will tell you it's well worth the effort to bring your Shammie over for Blue Angel Weekend, usually the weekend after the 4th of July. This year it's July 10th.

PM me if you have any questions.

My neighbor at the marina(Bens Lake in Destin)has a 32 shamrock, I have fished it many times and it's a sweet ride...I will ask him if he is interested in a shamrock get-together. Welcome to the forum:usaflag

jim t (2/1/2010)I have a Shamrock 260 Express that I have not used often enough lately.

One of the friendliest sites about boating and fishing is:

http://www.fishtheclassic.net/forums/

99% about inboard motors but a GREAT site anyway.

Jim

Hey Guys thanks for the replies!

The information you guys gave will be quite useful and Absolutely any shamrock past and present owners are welcome. At this time we have a date June 12 and one of our members is researching options for alocation.

Shamrocks are a high quality stable boat Known for there classic lines and dependable inboard power. I think they originated in south Florida and the company changed hands a few times. The last owner Bo Palmerlead Shamrock into bankruptcy last year. and allegedly left many upset investors holding the bag. All the while he reportedly moved the operation out of stateand continues to pursue his interest in Defiance Boats. Some might sayhis dealings with Shamrock investorswere shady and only intended to finance his Defiance boat line. I don't know just here say at this point.

Shamrocks have quite a fallowing and the owners have become quite a tight group. Basically we cover inboard boats and related issues Mostly Shamrocks however we do have a few single I/B Chris Crafts, Mako, and Aqua Sports. We have been knownto take afew good natured jabs at out boards.:shedevil The truth is nearly all of us also have O/B's as well.Feel free todrop in and chat sometime these guys are very helpful.http://www.fishtheclassic.net/forums/

Can I get a brief rundown on local fishing in June.

How far is blue-water and do you usually have a grass line to troll.

What would be the staple for the area. Trout, Snapper, AJ, Mahi, Tuna. Just interested in some basics.

Thanks
