Today, Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) announced six additional recreational red snapper fishing days for Gulf waters. The season for private recreational anglers and state for-hire operations will be open on the following Saturdays and Sundays: October 12-13, 19-20 and 26-27.

I read the announcement. Seems that for-hire has to stay in state waters but private boats can fish Federal also?

I wonder what the feds will have to say about that. Isn't this the first year that they've relinquished control to the states regarding the gulf?

Thank God.

Now we know we'll get some rain.

At least 6 days of it!

Gotta go itis. Killed plenty of airplanes. In the big picture of safety, I wonder if the people deciding all of this ever consider fishermen may go in more risky conditions because of the limited window.
