Today started out a bit weird. Got to Navarre pier parking lot at 6:15 and heard waves crashing and thought I missed out on some extra sleep for no reason. Went over the sand and saw that the waves were big but they were in perfect sets about a full minute and a half apart. In between sets it was glassy. So I loaded up and timed it just right and made it out with no problem. Got out past the pier and man the north wind was blowing hard. The water was spraying. Got bit off once and nothing else till about 9:45 and the wind died to nothing and the water got really slick. It was awesome out and then the fish came out. Got 2 spanish within a few minutes of each other. They were crashing bait all over the place about a mile out past the pier. Then a frieght train hits my cig. A 40 inch king, biggest I have caught on my kayak and it was a blast. When I got him just under the kayak I saw one even bigger than him right behind him. Glad I did not have another cig out, not sure if I could have handled both at the same time. Made my way back in and picked up another nice spanish for a total of 3 plus the king. Got all 4 fish in less than an hour and a half. The waves were almost down to nothing. Another beutiful day on the water.
