I gave the pompano a break this weekend, but I'm back after them this morning. Got here at daylight, only to find that the ruff surf this weekend has beat my little section of beach up pretty good. My cuts and holes are no more. I fished in one spot for about an hour, with no bites . I moved a couple of hundred yards east and I just put a 16 1/2" on ice.

Im beginning to wonder if pomps really are smaller on the gulf coast like ive always heard. Based on all your reports Ive looked at it sure doesnt seem like it. All the ones I caught at Hobe Sound over the past few weeks were 11-14". I did see a few 15-16" ones caught but those were the exception.
