Left sherman cove at 0730. Greeted at the pass by a 2-3 ft swell with about a7 secondperiod (interval) between swells. So no problems with runout with respect to sea state.

The goal was to target grouper andtrigger and stay out of the red snapper.

First stop was on a spot where I had caught a high grade of trigger fsh back in Janaury. No trigger fish were home at that spot, so we proceeded to several spots in the same general where we had caught some gags and scamp in the past.

The football mingos were biting fairly consistently all day and we managed one scamp, a lane snapper and a small golden tile. Other than that no luck with the grouper. On the way in we did a quick stop on a trigger hole and managed two fish before we ran out out of time late in the day.
The fishing was better than the catching, but all and all a great day to be in the outdoors and on the water.

ANY DAY ON THE WATER FISHING IS A GOOD DAY AND SOME FISH FOR DINNER IS A GOOD BONUS. YOU'LL GET THE GROUPER NEXT TIME.
