Anyone one fish out of a 19 Cape Horn in the gulf? How well does it do on say 2-3 day.

Thanks. I really want a newer 21 Cape. All the 21’s I have seen are t to much and are really at the point of needing repowering. I saw a clean 19 but just wasn’t sure about the size.

I believe they changed the hull design in 2004 and added more flare, etc.
I may have that date wrong, but either way MAKE SURE you go with the newer hull design, as the older version was very wet.
I’m sure some on PFF can validate the hull redesign date.
Very strong boats, strongest of the strong.
Fishing machines, easy to clean up and go again.

Had a 19. You will not like 2-3. 21 a little better. If you can go 24 or longer you will be very happy.

95 Cape Horn 19

We had a 95 Cape Horn 19 for several years. Had great experiences with it but stayed pretty much within 10 miles.
I know one thing for sure. That boat was a hell of a lot tougher than I am. We had 3 -4 ' seas blow up on us a couple of times and always felt safe heading in but it sure beat the heck out of us.

Had a 97'. Had to pick my days. Still, managed to troll the Nipple a few times. 25-30 miles was the norm. That being said, I'd shoot for the 22OS or larger. Size matters in safety and comfort.
