I saw on the news that they were offering $2000/day to help with the cleanup for Captain's who owned boats. Anyone know any more info on this? What are the requirements? Any special requirements as far as type/size of boat? Who would you contact? And on another note, would oil spill-related damage to your engine void the warranty?

Thanks,

Vessels>45' =$2,000

Vessels>30-45' =$1,500

Vessels less than 30' =$1,200

Heres another post I pointed out a few items in the contract.

And that is for you, your boat, and crew for 12 hour shifts. And you buy your own gas for a minimum of a month, and get paid for it, (or a fraction there of.)

My take? BP just turned 500 pissed of captains, commercialfishermen, and charter guys in Orange Beach alone into loyal followers, because they think they are now under contract with BP with the (strictly my take on it) bogus 16 page "contract" they signed.

I may be completely wrong. But I wouldn't sign the copy of that "contract" I picked up even if the rates were double. Leaves you swingin in the wind.
