Me and Logan hit the stand about 0545 this AM.... We were grooving the weather!!!:thumbup: Sat in the stand where most my morning pics are by 0730. 8 rolls around and the sun is beaming in my eyes (forgot my hat!) and no deer! The squirells were out in full force so I look over at Logan and gave him the nod to change arrows and start shooting squirells. Well, he's ready and the next thing you know, 2 deer come out! Momma and her baby! Baby was out of spots so Momma was fair game. I motioned to Logan to switch arrows and he tried to do it w/ out getting busted. I took my headlamp and threw it at them to kinda draw their attention and it hit a tree and landed 5 feet from em....Didn't phase them a bit!!! Logan was able to stand up and swap arrows w/ out spooking them too bad, but they kinda got in some heavy cover and never came back out....Ohhh well, that's hunting! Still enjoyed the morning!!!!

Hand held camera...I was trying to get Logan's 1st bow kill on video. Try it another day!!! Actually the stand is to the right of the pic about 10 yards, and I'm only 10 yards from the deer!

Were you planning on eating those squirrels?

I ask because I was always taught not to eat them until the first good frost. Which never made sense cause it seems the cooking process would kill any bugs and whatnots.

I really didn't expect him to kill any w/ the bow....but we'll eat em!!! Especially when we break out the 17 HMR and kill a bunch!!! I wouldn't worry bout bugs and worms....cooking em just adds flavor!
