Hello all. I have a 1992 115 Yamaholler attached to a boat I just bought and was wondering what MY rpms should be. Right now at WOT I am spinning 7500 rpms, and it sounds like the bolts are about to separate. After I hop on plan I drop the rpms down to about 5500, and it calms right down and with 5 people I am cruising at 27-29 mph. Should I increase the pitch on my prop to bring my WOT down. I know I/O engines run around 5k rpms at WOT so the outboard is throwing me for a loop.:banghead

lol 7500!!! I'm going out on a limb here but, I think that might be TOO high. Most outboards I've seen WOT at around 5500-6000 RPM

LOL! I thought so, but i wanted to be double sure! You can't never really tell!!! Anyways, i got home and found that it has a 13 1/4 x 17 prop on it, so i am thinking prolly a 21" pitch should drop her on down to where she needs to be!
