So i decided to brave the cold and the wind on Friday, got out around 8am and picked up some nice spanish on a bubble rig and netted a couple mullet. After the temps picked up to just under 60 I loaded up the yak and went to work. sent my first baits out fairly shallow in the bay with no luck, so I pulled in my 6/0 and loaded it up with a huge Mack cut in two and took it out past the buoys. about an hour later she comes to life ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ FISH ON! I turned the clicker off and gave her a few to swallow then wrenched down the drag. first pull took almost 100yds and i knew she was a tank, after almost a half hour i get her to the topshot and the dorsal pops up. Leader, tail rope, photo op, had i not for got my tagging needle it would have been perfect. 7ft 1in Sandbar!!!!
