I put in about O'Dark-Thirty this morning hoping for some sunrise topwater action. Unfortunately was overcast the whole time and didn't see a lick of sun. Nor did the super spook get any activity. I should have known better with this front coming in since it kept getting colder as the morning progressed. I switched over to boucing a soft-plastic jig on bottom and managed to get a reaction strike from an 18inch speck. Took a pic and back in the water she went (wasn't drumming so probably female...). Worked the area pretty hard with no other action so I reloaded the yak and put in at another spot. Nothing on the artificials, then managed to get a dink red on cut shrimp. I fished a little longer but to no avail, packed up and went home for a nice hot shower.

Well, you caught two more fish than I did today. Good work. My instinct said to stay warm but my desire to fish took over. I tried for a couple hours as the tide was coming in down in the bayou without any luck. It was windy and cold. I think I'm going to hit it tommorowsometime and see what happens.
