I'm in the process of building a DIY Battery Box. I will mostly use it for kayak fishing (powering my Lowrance and lights) and camping. So it has to be waterproof.
Here's the video -
The video is of my first phase. Just basic wiring, a switch, a light and a few plugs. I would like to opinion...
I have a great deal on some Marathon M12V90 all weather batteries. These are great for our boats. I work telecom and have the opportunity to get a great deal on them every now and then. Retails for 431.00. Sells used for 220 - 280.00. Will last forever. Throw
me a price for 2. OBO!!!!!
I did something stupid.. can't believe it happened. I hooked up my #2 battery backwards.
So far the damage is a melted lead thumbscrew post on a deep-cycle battery and a perko battery switch.
Luckily nothing caught fire and nothing smells burnt. My problem is now nothing happens when I turn...
Anyone have a crimping tool they will rent me for a few minutes? I really do not want to purchase one for a one time deal. West Marine has one I can borrow but it is on a bench and I do not want to take the battery cable out of the boat.
