No problem. Actually I know people that go gigging along the road between Fourchon and Grand Isle. They just shoot their lights along the edge and do pretty good. Where I go is out of the chef into the intercoastal waterway. There are many options from there. You can head toward the mouth of the chef as it enters lake ponchartrain, the pass that enters into lake borgne, along the shoreline of lake borgne, in the intercoastal. Depending on the wind usually dictates where you will gig. They have some monster flounder in there. I won't be surprised if I get one in there this year over 8 lbs. The reason is there is a lot of deep water coming in from the gulf that enters into shallow water. Its like flats with huge dropoffs. Those flats are loaded with big white shrimp, mullets, croakers, and small crabs. Those big doormats can't resist them. I've seen some beds out there last year that had to be atleast 26 inches long. I also see a ton of redfish, but I don't fool with them.
Hey man, I'm originally from south LA but live in the Panhandle of FL. I started gigging a few years ago here, but want to try LA. I'm not interested in trading a trip, but I'm willing to let you know some areas I do well in order to know where to go in LA. I go fishing near grand isle every year, but the water seems too muddy to gig. I've also tried gigging in Cameron/Holly Beach, but that was too muddy as well
