To be honest I havent checked out that side of the bay. I have fished shalimar bridge for spanish but thats about it. There are some flats on Okaloosa Island you can check out. There is also some grass beds next to the destin bridge between the Coast Guard station and the bridge. On the Destin side of the Midbay bridge there is some grass flats that are easy access to wade on the west side of the bridge.

I work at a personalization product kiosk on the Harborwalk. Its between the marina and Jackacudas seafood restuaunt. I work all day saturday so you should see me in my booth. Feel free to say hi!

    Hey Jason,
We are headed your way next weekend. Plans are to leave Chattanooga early and get some fishing in on Saturday before the kids arrive.

I took your suggestions and picked up some MirroLure MR17 and another Black/Olive as well. Ordered 2 Rip N Slash from Academy also. We are going out with Josh from Out-Cast Charters on Sunday, looking for some Snapper, Amberjack, and Grouper, Monday back bay fishing for some Reds and Specks.

I have scoped out Google maps and I promise not to ask for your favorite holes but.. can you give me some tips on Joe's Bayou? Also understand over by Brooks Bridge in Ft. Walton is pretty good because of the channel.

Thanks again for all your help, let me know where you work at the Destin Harbor and maybe we can hook up while we are down there.
Never caught a Red so it's on my bucket list for sure. If you have time for a phone call sometime before next Friday let me know.

    Much appreciated,
    Frank Blair

I believe that is the right part number. here is the link to mirrolures website:

Other patterns are effective but just like fly fishing i like to match the hatch. sometimes i use black back with silver sides mr17 but the trout one is always on standby

I was intrigued about the Mirrolure you are using on the Reds. Can you tell me if the right PN# is C17MR-TROUT? Been on Mirrolure's site and they of course have a zillion different lures.

I appreciate it, thank you sir.
