I was wondering if you could help me out? What is your approximate total fuel burn on your trips to the deepwater rigs? What engines are you running and what port due you run from?
I have a GB Isle Runner with Yamaha F150's. I run out of Orange Beach, AL.
I bought the boat to run to the rigs (i.e. Ram P., Marlin, Petronius, Beer Can) but have yet to run there due to BP.
What little I have got to run the boat it appears that I get about 2 NMPG on fuel economy. It seems like I should have capacity to accomplish this, but with very little reserve. Especially with the 10% reduction of actual available fuel due to the fuel pick ups as described by Larry Graf in the owners manual.

Great story. Do you use the altimetry function on your Hilton charts? I found that more telling than temp and color breaks. We stayed north closer to the SW ledge where it was running 0 to -10 on altimetry and mild temp break and ended up with 3 hoos and a 350lb blue marlin on Sat. Ill be posting a thread with pics later this week.
Question - how do you set up for deep drops and what qualifies as a deep drop? Are these conventional structures/holes on deep bottom?
