Hi Joe, haven't seen a report lately so checking to see what you have been up to? I have been a few times with zilch results. Did some bay fishing with strike-outs. River is on another significant rise to a substantial flood stage so that's out for a couple of weeks.
My snowbird friend from Kansas is here....staying near Fort Walton Beach. We are looking at a trip to the Fitzhugh Carter Tract on Tuesday or Wednesday, so wondering if you have been there any. I suspect all the rain we have had has the ponds up a bit.
We will be fishing ponds for the next couple of week. Will probably get over to the Sandhill ponds soon.
Hi Joe.....You sure started off right for your first saltwater adventure at Burnt Mill Creek. The area to the left or right of the creek mouth to the bay is good fishing territory. About 200 yards out from the mouth in the channel a couple of years ago I hit big sailcats hitting top water baits. That was a heck of a good time. They were in the 4 to 6 pound class. Had never experienced sailcat hitting top water baits before. Only thing is they are slimey
