Can you give me a lead for a catfish guide on Santee-Cooper (Lakes Marion & Moultree)? I was thinking about going up for the eclipse and taking a fishing trip while I was at it.

What is the cost of a typical trip. Been watching your site and I'm impressed. Thanks

Glenn......please tell me how to cut bream for cut bait at Steves. I had a dozen live bream today to use big bait on big hook for big fish but it didn't work out. Got a lot of pecking but none took the whole bait. Was using about half a bream for bait on a 6/0 circle hook.

My buddy lucked out on the 26 pounder with a #2 hook and chickenliver about golf ball size.

Have you ever used mullet or any other bait soaked in menhaden oil for catfishing. Just curious if it might work....I will be fishing the Hooch from the Abbie Creek Ramp a couple of days next week.
I was up there a couple of month ago and caught 9 small channels using some scrawney wigglers which is all I had for bait. Was after bream which did not work so tried cats and caught a few.

Glenn... By any chance to you hear what tackle Bill Stewart used on the Big Blue? Just curious.

Also, in those pictures I took there are a couple with a half dozen yellow cats on the ground. Of course I would call them Yellow Cats, but what are they for real?

We have gone out and looked at the site that you plan on having the tournament. Honestly, neither me nor my husband can see a way to make it happen right now. The location is so far away from support - i.e. runners to go to the store as things run out. The only options for us is to either buy way more than we will need and suck up the loss or bow out. At This point, we are not capable up pulling it off. Just too many other things going with charters and some family issues. We wish we could help but is beyond our ability to execute that weekend. We wish you all of the luck in the world. Be safe and have fun.

Where do you usually buy large bait from and what all do you use?

I went to Cedar Log landing this morning. Ths is the first ramp below the hwy 90 ramp at Caryvlle. River so low could not launch so launched at Morrison Springs. River really but you could run boat at plain if careful. This was new territory for me. Caught a lot of small bream but kept only 8. I did find some deep water along a bank at 10 to 14 ft with good cover. Plenty of fish ganged up at about 9 to 12 ft. when I found deep structure. Got a small channel there. Didn't have right gear to tighline but will remember that area to try again with better tackle.

Hi Glenn, Thoroughly enjoyed the trip last night and hope to do it again down the road.

That 3 loop knot you tied on the hooks, can you point me to it on the net. I have see it or something similar online but can't seem to find it now. Also, those lights on your boat...brand and where they can be bought, etc.

I cleaned the flathead and got to bed about 0330 this morning. Charles is not too much a fish eater but he loves to fish.
