Swoop 7am-1pm Saturday
Had a fabulous time on the Swoop. It was perfect, I left with 8 Mingos and my buddy, his son and father-in-law left with 19. People caught other fish that included a scamp grouper, lesser and greater amberjack, mahi and many other fish. My only irk was when we were headed back the captain turned the boat around because he saw a wooden industrial cable spool floating in the water. It was covered up with mahi mahi and we were only able to catch one when it could have been 20-30. The crew members were frustrated as was the paying fishermen. They said the captain must have thought they were small. Someone on the crew should have communicated to the captain that they were large. No other trip was planned that day so we could have easily landed many mahi. I suggest that one crewman and the captain have a walky talkie to communicate when the fishing is "on" like that.
Over all it's worth the money to book the swoop.

I've been on all of them including the swoop. I'm gonna try the sweet Jody this summer but hate you can't book without credit card reservation. My favorite one is the emerald spirit out of orange beach. Every time I've caught some good fish and never had a bad experience.
That is one thing I notice on most and have been aggravated a lot is that they pass up a bunch of debris and mats. Plus last years few times we caught maybe 3-4. Snapper and it was super slow on the boat and seemed as if it didn't matter.
I think differently and if I'm captaining I would stay out beyond the time just to make my clients happy. Heck we just love to fish. When you do it as long as these others I guess you just get in a routine and do not care some days.
