Default Nice bonus cobia 5 hour trip on the New Florida Girl

This nice fella popped up today while I was fishing on the American Spirit head boat. Dropped a single hook rig with a fresh caught B-liner for bait. Really cool watching the cobia eat. Around 35-38#'s.

None. Only a few barely legals on the boat today. Only a 5 hour trip, I had company from out of town that wanted to go fishing.

Very nice bonus, this is my favorite fish to eat. Filet Mignon of the gulf.

Think about it, the're taking 30-60 passengers once or twice a day 7 days per week on short trips (tourist). That's a lot of pressure on fishing spots within 10-14 miles from the pass. By the end of snapper season, there's been a lot of snapper taken. And this is just one head boat out of several in Destin.

On the 8 hour trips, snapper are much easier to come by.
