Default Should we end all Religious subsidies?

http://www.secularhumanism.org/index...ge=cragun_32_4

This article claims we would save 710 billion over 10 years or 71 billion a year.

That's a lot of $$ and I agree we should stop all subsidies to religions, but the fools we have running the show will spend it like drunken sailors.

No we should not. If done right, they're a great thing. Over 60% of our churches tithes and offerings go to missionaries and charities. Our pastor lives in a modest home, lives in a modest lifestyle, and doesn't take advantage of his power. Christians are told to give a piece from what they earn to the church.

Why is it now fashionable to look at money that never existed as savings or deficits? This is a fundamental change to political jargon that occurred in 2008 when politicans no longer felt a political backlash when raising taxes in an election year.
