He knew me before I was born, and you also. Prayers lifted for your and for him. Been there and done that on both ends and it usually comes out better for both parties involved. Peace brother.

I don't know you. However, the fact that you feel bad lets me know you care. You obviously didn't just let the guy go because you could.
If this person was not fired but was let go because of a reduction of the work force, that is probably out of your control. In that case we can pray for him to get a better job.

If he was fired:
The first thought that comes to mind for me is "The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you".
Scripture has examples of folks being removed from their position. Whether it was for theft, lying, laziness or just plain being a trouble maker.
I'm sure you thought out all circumstances and came to the only responsible conclusion.
I have been in the position of having to release someone several times. Whether you own a business or manage a business for someone else, you are a steward for the company. God expects you to do right for the business.
Personally I hated having to be in that position. However, I also was grateful that God allowed me to be in that position. Scripture says we are to do all things as unto The Lord. Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; That means we take our responsibilities seriously.
I will pray for peace beyond all understanding to come on you.
I will also pray for the person that was fired (if that is the case) to learn from the experience and be blessed with another job.
