Default Daily Scripture

Matthew 7:1-2

7 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.

2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Perhaps the most misquoted scripture found in the Bible. You might want to expound on this a bit more.

There's no need.
Your posted scripture below and his is really ultimately saying the same thing. Strive to be on the right path and you will reap the benefits of his love.

Jesus loves you yes I know for the bible tells us so. Strive to do the right things in life. If not you will be judged accordingly.

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

These thoughts come from a sinner that strives to be good under his word but is not always successful. But I still try. God is great!

It's not misquoted in the context I put in but I know what you are saying. Sorta like folks who live in glass houses.....I work on this issue in my life constantly. I'm a people watcher and "judge" frequently. I'm getting better but it's a work in progress.

3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?

5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

But you see where I was coming from. It is not saying don't judge, but to judge righteously. It is also telling us that if we do judge others we will be measured by that same judgement. In other words don't tell someone not to commit adultery if you are in an adulterous relationship. That is the heart of the matter. For what it's worth I don't prefer NIV and the reason is the way it is translated. I prefer the ESV or NASB. Try and find a new ESV study Bible, they are incredible.
