Default Woodlawn beach 6/6

Wanted to get out today but was thinking water was muddy. Actually was clearer then what I thought it would be! conditions were very good specks were killing top water after the north wind kicked in a laid everything down. Got 5 total in 2 hours 1 on a MR and rest on a bomber top dog

On that note, I've noticed on my end of the Choctawhatchee it isn't the rain alone that makes it muddled water. Short of torrential downpours/flash-floods, I've noticed rain makes it tea-stained (just brown tinted water, tannnins from the leaves coming down the creeks and rivers) and being on a windward side of the bay is what drives the muddy and clouded in my experience. If you're on a leeward shore or even cove/bayou it's still darker but getting reaction strikes and hits it's still feasible in stained water. Clouded water is a different animal (i.e. being on a north shore when the wind is blowing from the south), and I usually don't have much luck besides trash-fish, especially if the wind is still kickin'.

I was shocked how clear it was almost normal. This was on the north side of the sound. Lots of run off and small creeks feed into it but I guess since it was just a steady rain and not much of storms so to say it didn't effect it at all really

Nice looking trout. Five specks like is a good trip.

Thanks for sharing.
