Default Upper Escambia Report Sat/Sun

Well, I figured I'd post a report for the inshore yakkers. I decided to try upper Escambia sat/sun morning. I met up with Chase and Robin Saturday morning. My third cast of the morning produced a nice 25" slot red. As the sun came out, the trout bite turned on. It was hit and miss but it seemed slower was better when working my artificial. The trout are definately thick. I eneded up with two reds and a bunch of specks. The specks seemed to average 15-18".

This morning started off slow. I worked some points and picked up a couple rat reds. The trout bite wasn't as good as Saturday but I did pick up a couple. I had one big blow up on my top water that ran the drag but got off. About the time I was thinking about leaving, I got this 19" flounder. It hit a gulp shrimp in 3' of water. Overall, good weekend and it was fun exploring some new areas.

Nice report. The 19" flounder will make a great stuffed flounder dinner. Enjoy the great eating.

nice catch. I have been having good luck there myself. I just got back from a short early morning trip. Caught my biggest flounder from a yak. 22 inches on a gulp jerk shad. Plenty of small trout still in area busting on alweis.
